Introduction to Sex and Relationships Education

This course is an introduction to teaching Sex and Relationships Education for teens and is suitable for youth workers, school nurses, teachers, learning mentors, Connexions workers, social workers etc.
By the end of the course participants will
- Explore and work on their own values and attitudes around sex, relationships, self-esteem and young people.
- Learn how to empower young people around good sexual decision making.
- Be able to talk more confidently and knowledgeably about sex and relationships with young people.
- Learn the basics around condoms and safer sex.
- Explore the link between self-esteem and sexual readiness.
- Practice and take away tools for working with teens around healthy relationships.
This course is designed to take place over 3 3 hour sessions (for example a twilight or evening training course) in London/South East. This costs £975 and includes travel (in London/South East), handouts, activities, notes from the session, sample packs of leaflets and certificates.
A slightly extended version of this course can take place over 2 days (particularly suited for full time youth workers or teachers/tutors with responsibility for teaching SRE to teens). This costs £1050 and includes travel and accommodation (in mainlaind UK), handouts, notes from the session, sample packs of leaflets and certificates.
All courses are for up to 16 participants, this represents excellent value for money.
This course is based on the Department of Health approved model of sexual health training and is delivered by Justin Hancock (Bish Training), an accredited sexual health trainer from the Centre for HIV and Sexual Health.
